Our Bunny’s Journal
Our first few days
We adopted our first bunny, a New Zealand breed few years ago from a local adoption center. When we brought her home, we spent nearly an hour at the rabbit shelter learning how to take care of her. We couldn’t stop petting her. She loved being pet, and her fur was incredibly soft, just like wool. She was full of energy and curiosity, running around and sniffing everything in sight.
After some discussion, we decided to change her name from Beignet to Snowball, inspired by her silky white fur and beautiful ruby eyes. That night, we couldn’t take our eyes off Snowball. We sat on the floor and let her approach us, sniffing and exploring. She showed no fear, hopping onto our legs and then off again. Although we wanted to ensure she didn’t feel lonely when we weren’t around, we were torn about getting another bunny. We showered her with love and attention, and she seemed content.
Since bunnies are ideally adopted in pairs, we never leave Snowball alone for too long. We cherish her and spend lots of time playing with her. As proud rabbit owners, we are delighted to see her as a very happy bunny!several ytear
